A Coffee Close to Our Heart
In October 2025, our co-founder Bobby was invited to judge the Narino Cup of Excellence Competition. Bobby was one of 18 people worldwide invited to judge the competition. 30 micro lot coffees were blind tasted and evaluated in search of the Number 1 Lot. At the final Auction, we banded together with two other Australian coffee roasters to purchase and share this lot of coffee. A special moment highlighting how the specialty coffee community can work together.
Weβre proud to share this special cup with you. We hope you love it as much as we do.

History
Diego Arturo Aroca is a coffee producer from the department of NariΓ±o, Colombia, whose work with specialty coffees hasΒ allowed him to stand out in highly competitive regionalΒ
platforms. At last yearβs regional coffee auction in NariΓ±o, his lot was selected and placed 13th, reflecting the quality and potential of his production.
The coffee comes from the municipality of La UniΓ³n, an area known for its high altitude, cool climate, and delicate cup profiles, ideal conditions for exotic varieties such as Gesha and for producers committed to careful, quality-focused processes.
PROCESS DESCRIPTION
The coffee was washed with salt and sealed in bags for 48 hours. After this stage, it was depulped and transferred to a clean bag for another 72 hours of fermentation. It was then rinsed and moved to the drying station, where it was dried until the parchment turned dark. Once dry, the coffee was bagged for another 72 hours and later placed in a mechanical dryer (silo) at 50Β°C for one hour. After this final stage, the coffee was stored in bags and sacks for an additional three days before being ready for milling.
